Does not work on anything newer than server2008, kerberos errors, for win10 and server 2016 use xfreerdp instead
I've used versions of this software for 10 years and it works, period. Many of the users expect a nice point and click icon and just gave up. This program works from the command line. Simply point rdesktop a RDP server and it connects. I use it to connect to xrdp servers. With a little work, you can create your own icon or shell script to make a connection. Just need to read the manual. Functionally its fine. Now for the bad news. 1.83 has security issues (see https://cve.mitre.org/). Hope to see an upgrade to at least 1.85.
Best RDP application IMO. These people that are hating don't know how to use it. This has to be run as a command from terminal! Open terminal and do a 'man rdesktop' for commands.
BROKEN. Doesn't start. Not shown in applications, so at least it has no GUI. Couldn't delete from app manager, used "apt remove". Use Remmina.
I hava a misterious server that isn't connecting with remmina, so installed this one. I'm launching it from terminal and thinking it's actually faster and less buggy than remmina.
I have used it many times, but now "Install" does not work, not even "apt-get install rdesktop", error: "Unable to locate package rdesktop"
Locks up keyboard and mouse clicks randomly and frequently. Can't even go to console, have to reboot. When it works, it's nice and capable. Using Deb Mint 14, with Mate 1.4.1-1 (wheezy)
