Synergy lets you easily share a single mouse and keyboard between multiple computers with different operating systems, each with its own display, without special hardware. It's intended for users with multiple computers on their desk since each system uses its own display.

Redirecting the mouse and keyboard is as simple as moving the mouse off the edge of your screen. Synergy also merges the clipboards of all the systems into one, allowing cut-and-paste between systems. Furthermore, it synchronizes screen savers so they all start and stop together and, if screen locking is enabled, only one screen requires a password to unlock them all.

Synergy binaries are available as paid downloads at https://symless.com/synergy/ or may be built from source found at https://github.com/symless/synergy

Synergy is the first application I install for any new or fresh computer I put into use. I can't live without it.

Super useful. (btw, you have to drag the monitor picture in the upper right corner if you only see one monitor in the table.)

*Sorry* Correction! You can throw you're KVM switch overboard. Synergy lives up to it's name, it's easy to configure and with the ´recent´ implementation of encryption for the tcp protocol stack pretty secure.

I've been using Synergy for almost two years now. The ability to share a mouse and keyboard across multiple machines is very helpful. I share my mouse and keyboard among three machines: two Linux Mint PCs and a Windows PC. Works like a charm!

I love this program and have been using it for years. On Mint 13 (Cinnamon) I had to write a script to run at login to connect to my server. No big deal, been bash scripting for a while...easy day. Now the problem that I am seeing is that I lose my connection when my Mint machine goes idle/sleep/lock screen. Just need to have the same script executed when waking and should resolve this issue also.

Right now, it seems to have problems with either Gnome 3 or Mint 12 or both. Unable to launch or even show up in Accessories here, in two machines. Similar reports online [to be updated]

I like this program a lot makes using 2 or more computers with 1 keyboard and 1 mouse/trackball/touchpad a dream to use. I have been using this program sense my window 98 se days and now with my windows xp and ubuntu systems. I use it with my newly installed Mint 11 system to.. But I would like to see the mint team add Qsynergy to the package listing that program makes it even easyer to setup synergy....
