Tilda is a terminal emulator similar to normal terminals like gnome-terminal (GNOME) or Konsole (KDE), with the difference that it drops down from the edge of a screen when a certain configurable hotkey is pressed. This is similar to the build-in consoles in games such as Quake or Half-live. Tilda is highly configureable through a graphical wizard.

Tilix is a much more elegant terminal that drops down from the edge of a screen when a certain configurable hotkey is pressed.

There are options I'd like to see around window management -- However it does a better job than the top-3 alternated. Somthing for 'smart' gnome users to consider is that some (missing) options can be executed with ALT-key combinations (e.g MOVE). Sometimes you just need to go old-school ;-)
