Yad allows you to display GTK+ dialog boxes from command line or shell scripts. It is similar to Zenity but with more dialog types and options.

Yad is great BUT this version is 0.4.0 and actual release is v13! Not funny....

Really need it, but the version in the repos is ancient! So much so I can't actually use it, please update this in the repos!

I only used the --notification for some clickable status icon in the system tray, so far. But it works good and the whole thing looks pretty amazing.
