"Steam is amazing if you want to play PC games. Do not believe the posts that say all the ‘good’ games fail to launch. Almost my entire library of Steam-Windows-PC library works in Linux. However, the games did fail to launch for me using the Noveau drivers for Linux. I have to use the Nvidai proprietary driver. Also, I tried the flatpack version and the games failed to launch for me there. But a normal install using the proprietary drivers is darn good. Though, some games will need tweaking, check ProtonDB.com for hints. Finally, I run the Linux Mint Edge build and you may want to try that for better game and peripheral compatibility."

"The normal package version is great. The flatpak version was borked for me LM20.2Edge. All of these games worked with the normal package but failed with the flatpak. Splinter Cell, Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory, Deadspace, 7 Days to Die, Valheim. Also, I didn't try these games on flatpak Steam but on normal Steam they also worked: Far Cry 5, Bioshock Remastered, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and Cold Waters. So, if flatpak doesn't work for you, remove it and re-install the normal package and give it a try."
