I started dabbling with Linux mint on version 17 after deciding I didn't like Ubuntu's rigid settings. Cinnamon was wonderful and I was hooked. The only setback thus far was the loss of awesome, native screensavers in 19.1. Regardless, I'll choose this over icky Windows any day. I have it on all of my personal computers and have been able to install it on most of my work computers the last three jobs (current jobs as a VM, but I'll take what I can get). Professionally, I've been working on Linux Systems for almost 10 years, was a Linux Systems Admin for 2 and a half of those years, and am currently an Applications Systems Engineer on mostly Linux systems. I have exposure to Arch, Redhat, RHV and Ovirt Node Next, Rocky, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Mint. They all have their used and all are wonderful in their own right. Mint is by far my favorite flavor of Desktop and I don't anticipate that changing any time soon.

"I have no issue with flatpak packages. This app does what I want it to. It's simple enough to not drown you in features, yet complex enough to enjoy getting things done. "

"I'm able to get the latest version Cura 5 (currently 5.4.0) appimage to work after hours of troubleshooting, just run the app image with bash script that unsets "QT_STYLE_OVERRIDE" first. (running Mint 21 on a VivoBook_ASUSLaptop X712JA_S712JA 1.0, as well as Mint 21.1 on a Dell G15 5520)"

"I like this app. I had to use find in my home directory to find where files were being saved, but I did, and simply replaced the directory with symbolic link to my music directory. "
