| com.discordapp.Discord "I despise having to use this because everybody else uses it. These are the things I hate. #1 it uses over 400MB of memory, in comparison a youtube tab with HD Video and hundreds of comments loaded uses less than that, and it gets worse whenever someone is streaming. This is ridiculous for something I need running in the background constantly. #2 The updates are annoying. Instead of using the update manager, for whatever reason, discord makes you open your browser download a .deb package, which you then have to install, only for the client to then install the updates again using the discord update manager. All these updates seem to do is make the ui worse. #3 Discord uses your data for advertising. Most of this staying in the app right now, but I imagine they'll start sending this out once they realise that they need more money to run the service. There are settings for turning these advertising features off, but they are on by default, and even though I might be the one person on earth that reads the privacy policy updates, I was not informed of this. #4 It looks ugly. They seem to have removed the option to use the system title bar in a recent update, and the one they force us to use looks out of place compared to everything else, and all so there can be some useless buttons there." |
