Ive Been looking at linux since 2000 and a Ubuntu user since 2005 so am still young in the game, have used gnome, kde , Xcfe, puppy (on a old laptop)for a year or so and have used Stumpwm for a while (and plan on still using it, Im a WM junky),. So i was thinking of doing a fresh install of ubuntu and a friend suggested using mint so here i am.  Because Ubuntu has been my base the whole time im very familar with it and back in 2005 when it wasnt as user freindly as it is now i got use to finding out how to fix things and install things on my own (as every body whose been in linux is use to doing).  There is no windows im my house all the computers run linux and the Phones are android of course and im slowly converting others to the fold.

The reason i started using stumpwm was because at the time unity in ubuntu sucked, and the gnome 3 from ppa was good but lacked the extensions to make it usefull now after 9 or so months when i went back to have a look unity wasnt soo bad and gnome 3 has gotten better but when i saw mints Cinnamon and used it i though why not fresh install to lisa and get the gnome 2 feel ive been missing .
