Long-term Linux user for everyday work and programming: starting at the mid-90s I switched to SuSE, but was turned off by the constant need to set up systems anew when distributions were updated - the system-internal updating never really worked.
Switched to Ubuntu some years ago and was quite content with it (and mostly still I am, at least with 10.04 LTS version).
Problems with video output handling in changing environments (notebook alone, notebook on docking station, notebook attached to arbitrary beamers) and the oncoming changes in desktop rendering of Ubuntu brought me to Mint Debian. I am still customizing and trying to get the system to run the way I like. :-)
