I am a 20 year old student from The Netherlands. I study electrical engineering at Windesheim UAS. I started using Linux quite some time ago (not sure when exactly) when I almost threw my computer out after ragequitting from Windows.

I have tried many distributions, such as Ubuntu, Kubuntu, Debian, Fedora, Knoppix, PCLinuxOS, Vector Linux, Damn Small Linux, Puppy Linux and many others. Basically I was distrohopping to see which distribution would fit my personality.

I didn't know much about Linux until I started using Mint, which I felt was the right distribution for me. I learned about Linux bit by bit and discovered that Mint was not only an operating system for daily use, but it also allowed me to go nerdy on it. That's why I like Mint so much: It allows me to go all nerdy on it until sunrise and switch to "normal mode" when I need to, for example when I need to design a PCB.

I only started using Linux Mint on my laptop recently, because my previous laptop was unable to run new Linux kernels unless I removed my hdd. Fortunately, I have new ("new") laptop now that runs Linux Mint like a charm. Before I had my "new" laptop, I ran Mint on my desktop, which I still do.

I am quite lucky because most software in the world of electrical engineering is also available on Linux, wether it be from the same company or an open source alternative.

In my personal life, I enjoy coding C/C++ for embedded systems. I am into gaming. If you want to play a game on Steam, do send me a message.

"Small and efficient. Allows you to add and sort your own favourite radio stations. Minor downside is that it locks up for a while when it can't connect to your selected radio station."
