Worked great, was able to easily edit some subtitle files. Wish it could write it back into the video file (at least I couldn't figure out how to do that). There was some weird crashes and error messages on start which should probably get cleaned up. MKVTool Nix was able to get the subtitles written back into the file though, so these worked well together.
Amazing app. I use it all the time. Seems to be made for creating casual subtitles, but once you hear about hydra and other stuff, you are impossible to stop. I love using subtitles that blend into the song's MV. Tho it still has a bit of bugs. I sometimes can have my font displayed on the video and color picker can be broken. Yet, besides that, the only crashes I get are due to add-ons I installed, so I blame it to them. Oh, when you open the app there is a warning. Feel free to ignore it!
I used this in mint 20.x and liked it a lot. It's got a lot more features than I ever used, and felt rather mature as a piece of sw. So why - I wonder - doesn't this exist anymore in mint 21? I could of course install the windows version under Wine, or switch to another app like gnome-subtitles..
this is a very-very great tool...
unlike NORMAL subtitle editors, Aegisub allows you
to position your subtitles and to style them
(by using *.ass format not simple *.srt)
PS:
you can easily export your styled subtitles as bare srt subtitles...
good subbing program but this one on repo are outdated. The latest one as of now is 3.1.3
