Outdated client, can't sync with the cloud. It's unfortunate since the Flatpak version looks weird on a system using the Mint X theme, unlike this one.
This is a good piece of software, but I highly recommend installing net.ankiweb.Anki from flatpak to get the most up to date version
I read reviews saying it was difficult to use? Not really, it could be more intutive to get started but it suited my purposes for a simple picture and text flashcard system. That is until I went to save the deck and it crashed. Tried restarting etc. Same. Uninstalled.
Superb when you're really organizing your learning. Downsides are that it's quite hard to explore and find decks that others have made. Also, I wish I had more control over the time intervals between cards, because there is no universal 'long term memorization' algorithm for all types of learning and for all types of people. Btw, no Indonesian UI for the Desktop application yet, though the Android app's one is quite well done already. AND linux mint repo is rather outdated but good enough for me cuz I don't sync anything online anyways.
Greatly overrated. Horrible UI, unnecessarily complicated. Must spend many days studying on how to use it, instead of just focusing on what you want to study. Had to read a guide on how to make reverseable cards. Now I have to create all cards from the beggining, so they are reversable. Horrible. Having tried anki, mnemosyne and countless others, only anki installed and run, all others never launched. I ended up buying actual paper cards for memorizing. Super cheap, super effective, don't have to read a guide or fight with unsatisfied dependencies
Anki is easily the best learning applicatoin ever. Needed to grab the latetest version directly from ankiweb though. This installed 2.1.17
One of the most useful apps ever created. But it doesn't load on Mint 19.3. Flatpack works just fine.
Não fucionou no meu intel atom (32 bits), RECOMENDO a versão Anki (Flathub) essa pegou lisinha aqui no meu notebook.
LOVE Anki. Install python3-distutils as PetersBob pointed out. Also check this out, it's super helpful- https://ankidictation.home.blog/
I like it lots. Simple, direct, extra features for those that want, sync to web, easy to make cards, decks to share... i'm still a newbie but i'm liking it so far. Oh, to install on a fresh Linux Mint, i also had to "sudo apt-get install python3-distutils" in terminal.
Long-time Anki lover from other platforms. As mentioned by another reviewer, post-install the program does nothing until you run "sudo apt-get install python3-distutils". Then it works fine.
I had to run "sudo apt-get install python3-distutils" after installation to get it running, but anki still deserves five stars.
