GLabels is a lightweight program for creating labels, barcodes, business cards and media covers for the GNOME desktop environment. It is designed to work with various laser/ink-jet peel-off label and business card sheets that you'll find at most office supply stores.

gLabels also supports mail merge from sources such as CSV files, vCards and Evolution data servers.

i have used this program for a while and really like it. However the most recent build (3.4 on Ulyanna) has omitted support for EAN style barcodes which has completely screwed me. Thankfully the website has a useful guide on building V4 from source with the plugins required for full functionality.

This is a very good program to use. I've watched it progress from my days using Ubuntu 6.06 LTS all the way to U 10.04 LTS and really like the way it has progressed..

Won't print to Dymo LabelWriter 400 since Mint 12. :(

Looks good but fails on printing CD on Epson TX700W. Still prints on A4 paper; cannot select CD Tray

This is quite simply the best label software I have ever used. Clean and simple to use yet it caters for every situation and comes with a large library of commercial label templates.

Don't bother with any of the Office products, this little program is the answer to any label problem. You can tell it where to start printing on the sheet and merging your output from a CSV file is so very easy!! A wonderful program that should be in the toolbox of everybody who has a lot of Christmas cards to address
