The best tool of its kind. I use it to connect my PC and laptop (both running Linux Mint), two Android phones, and an Android tablet—linking them all together for image and file transfers as well as media control. It works beautifully once properly set up. My only criticism concerns the interface, which is very bare-bones at the start; it doesn't tell you that a specific firewall rule is required, nor does it offer any other setup assistance. The developers should keep in mind that not everyone who wants to use the app is a system whiz capable of figuring these things out based on prior experience. Former Windows users, in particular, are coming from a system that has historically handled all the thinking for them.
I really wanted it to work. Even if I couldn't find a way to limit/filter the alerts than came though, I wanted it to work just respond to text messages without pulling out the phone. Sadly, it doesn't want to work for me. Constantly disconnects/reconnects (even though the phone is constantly connected to bluetooth) and each time it repeats all open alerts. Too annoying to be useful to me. Mint 22.3 (kernel 7.0.0-28) with Samsung S21
Using it with my Samsung A17 running android version 16 (Kernel 5.15.189) and Linux Mint 22.3. Works flawlessly and as expected. I do not care what the app looks like, so long as it works.
I cannot fathom how you could realease software with no logging. Am I really expected to just restart, delete configs, kill and restart again and hope it just works? How about a little bit of verbosity, just let me know which step goes wrong when the IP can be pinged but the device can't be fucking found. Asinine. Yes, there's a '--debug' option, so fucking write that to a goddamn file!
Hopefully I can come back and edit my score. Just installed and my first take is functional. I primarily installed in order to use SMS. Contacts are displayed as phone numbers, not names, and phone numbers are duplicated for the same message recipient.
Have been using it for many months now, has worked like a charm! the only thing that bugged me was the notification sync. i already have my phone with me, so my laptop sending me same notificaion was overwelming so i had to disable it. Rest just work as you expect it to work.
How to get it to work: open firewall ports (seen in other reviews or just use rule preset in Firewall GUI app) and turn off Mint's WLAN power saving to stop the connection from ending abruptly.
Honestly I only use "Send Cipboard" / "Share File" and "Media Controls" ..... but, theres a minor bug in "Share File"... sometimes Ill share a heavy and specific file like "game_assets.cdi" from my PC to phone and my phone wont see it... it would be cool if you could add a UI Graphical Interface for sharing of files to know progress, failed and other stuffs
Funciona bien, es casi como quick share, solo falta pulir algunas cosas como la transferencia bluetooth y algunas opciones que no funcionan bien en cinamon, como la de encontrar la PC.
Superfast transferring files from my iPhone. Easy to setup and to send all kinds of files, just wonderful! One mention is to make sure KDE Connect is not blocked from your firewall. So, make sure to allow KDE Connect in/out connections.
Not the prettiest app but it works if you're on the same wifi network as your phone. If you have your firewall enabled, you'll need to do the following: 1) Open your firewall app 2) click Rules 3) click the + button to add a rule 4) Policy: Allow. Direction: Both. Category: Network. Subcategory: All. Application: KDE Connect. 5) Click Add and you're done.
It works fine. But it need some tweeks to be able to display phone content on newer phones (I have Sony Xperia 10V). I have Gwenview installed and somehow it will open Gwenview to browse the folder? To open the content for newer phones you need to add "/storage/emulated/0" to the folder to view the phone content (otherwize it just show empty folder). For excample "/run/user/1000/"Long-Random-String"/storage/emulated/0" (you have to replace "Long-Random-String" to your phone folder). Then you can browse your phone. On my old Sony Xperia XZs it show content without problem.

It works on Linux Mint 21 Cinnamon. Make sure you add the firewall rules sudo ufw allow 1714:1764/udp && sudo ufw allow 1714:1764/tcp sudo ufw reload
How do you get this to work on LM 20.3 Cinnamon? I've tried everything. There seems to be no consistent/clear advise.
