Audacity is the world's most popular audio editing and recording app.
You can use Audacity to:
3.7 version doesn't support Autotalent.so (shared dynamic library). The folder and autotalent.so don't appear in Audacity plugin board. I'm stuck for Mint updates
Flatpack version 3.5.1 does not even launch on Linux Mint 21.3 kernel 5.15. Non of the versions I tryed befor did!
Thank you, docent27! After deleting xdg-run/pipewire-0 from Other files section via Flatseal I was able to launch the latest Tenacity flatpak realease. Probably it will work for audacity too, but I haven't check it.
I am a fan of Audacity despite the score of 1 - I HATE IT!! NOT A FAN OF THE FLATPACK VERSION 3.4.2 in Software Manager - made a clean install of Linux Mint 21.2 Cinnamon onto HP Microserver - installed Audacity via flatpack route - as like many others have reported - will not launch - not responding - have to force quit - going back to system package that actually installs and works correctly despite it being version 2.4.2~dfsg0-5 at least it works!!
Прога непогана для запису і обробки звука, але flatpac версія має баг, який не дає їй стартонути, виправити це можно через flatseal, там треба удалити одну змінну трічку.
Flatpack version will not launch. "Audacity is starting up... is not responding."
Le Pack Système fonctionne mais Flatpak ne fonctionne pas avec Linux Mint 21.1 Vera base: Ubuntu 22.04 jammy
I don't see any interest in the flathub version. The modular version is working so well! This version takes a huge amount of disk space to install. I would like to remind you that the strength of Linux lies partly in its modularity.
Whenever I launch it, it says: "Audacity is starting up... is not responding."
UPDATE: Since 3.2.2 (on LM 21.1) it is starting again and is back to work. Awesome! OLD: I really like this Application, but as some others written before, the Flatpak installtion does not start. There are not terminal outputs, just the startup screen and an automatic termination question. Please fix. The App Image works.
Closes immediately upon initiating recording. Is this a bug or a feature? I don't know. I'm using other software from now on.
Flatpak version don't "see" midi devices while the package version works perfectly on same computer, mint 19.3
