The daddy of a lot of other editors. (to bad it seems to be infected with the potential of constant flickering text in mint 19)
When ever I switch from Windows (where I use Notepad++) to Linux, Scite is the dev text editor I use. Great feature set and very customisable.
One of the nicest editors around. The Win alternative, Notepad++ is based on Scite. For the perfect editor I would marry Scite and Geany (which can't handle multiple files as Scite does).
..Between this and Notepad++ there is no need for any other text editor in Linux or Windows!
Unbeatable set of features. Configured by text file, so you can version-control your configs! Everything I could want from an editor. Based on same widget as Notepad++
colored syntax for developer, can open binary file as text, a pretty good tool
Powerful, but I wish I could customize it a bit. The toolbar seems unchangable. It's a bit nit-picky but the icons could use a different theme. Otherwise, functionally looks like a great editor!
My editor of choice across all platforms. Love having the syntax highlighting and the debug console built in.
