avant-window-navigator
"The best dock for Mint MATE, avoids the flashy and buggy options of complex ones like Cairo-Dock, but not as limited as Plank. Now works on Mint 17 MATE."

djtools
"Doesn't appear on menu, doesn't run by typing "djtools" in a terminal. Doesn't work."

deja-dup
"Tried several backup programs, none very good, chose Deja Dup because it works and is simple and intuitive to use. When the backup has failed (admittedly without much indication of what has gone wrong) it has always been because of lack of disk space. The website live.gnome.org suggests that you CAN restore a single file. Two enchancements would be good: A panel to declare whether backup was successful instead of the little popup which can disappear before you spot it. Being able to save more than one backup list - so I could backup music on one and everything else on another without having to redefine them every time."

boinc
"I have struggled to get BOINC to work in the past, but on Mint-14/Cinnamon at least it runs. It doesn't start automatically when the computer is idle though. Download and install 7.0.28 which does."
