I am using it on Linux Mint 22 MATE 1.26.2 and it works well. By default, it uses the system's Freedesktop alarm-clock-elapsed.oga sound file, producing a ridiculously high dog whistle pitch that is almost inaudible to humans, but Alarm Clock allows one to choose any other MP3, OGG or WAV file to one's liking. When it is running in timer mode, a window appears on the screen showing the remaining hours, minutes and seconds, but the seconds are rendered in Flyspeck 3 font, almost unreadable. The developer should fix that and show timer and alarm times in XX:XX:XX format where all digits are the same size and big enough to discern without having to press one's nose against the monitor screen. Even though it is billed as an "applet", it did not get installed in the Add to Panel menu; instead, the icon appeared in the Applications/Accessories menu. To get it on one of my MATE panels, I had to drag it out of the Applications menu to the desktop, then drag the desktop icon to the panel. When deleting a timer or alarm with the "–" button, it doesn't present a verification pop-up, so it is all too easy to accidentally delete an alarm or timer setting. That, too, should be fixed.
I am running the latest Linux Mint Cinnamon that I installed fresh on a new computer this week. When I run this, the system locks up when the alarm should sound.
https://alarm-clock-applet.github.io/#install #Nowadays (Oct 9 2023) you have to add the repository, & install using apt
Linux Mint 20.1 install just go to http://archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/pool/universe/a/alarm-clock-applet/alarm-clock-applet_0.3.4-1build1_amd64.deb It installs and works fine straight from https://ubuntu.pkgs.org/18.04/ubuntu-universe-amd64/alarm-clock-applet_0.3.4-1build1_amd64.deb.html II
linux mint de çalışmayan bir uygulamaya yorum yazmak..! bu ne perhiz bu ne lahana turşusu amk..!
Mmmm sometimes it's a real work of art to make something simple, straight forward, easy to use and it is stable, reliable and it works. I like this program a lot.. And this has the really limited functions of timer (great), alarm, and the choices of the stock audio or you can select your own... love it. A few different timers 3 minutes sit down, 10 minutes active work = or variations of = hugely useful.
its ok andeasy to usebut the alarm only rings 15 minutes that is not enough
I recommend. Trzyma nas w dyscyplinie. Bez niego nie ma sensu siedzieć godzinami przed komputerem. Trzeba co jakiś czas dać odpocząć oczom, ciału, porozciągać cialo itd.
Great interface and easy usablility. Can set custom alarm sounds per alarm, or make it open a program. I use it every day. My only complaint is that it is hard to see which alarms will go off when, if you have a large amount of them. This is just my preference, that I think it's hard to scroll through the list. After all, it's not a scheduling application (basically what I use it for though).
