I think it has a few extra features compared to the built in torrent client, "Transmission", so I tend to use this on Linux Mint. This is also my goto on systems without a builtin torrent client like Windows and MacOS.
At the time of writing, this is version 4.1.7 which is several years out of date!! Version 4.4.1 was already up by now, use the flatpak one if you're on Mint or download from the official website, otherwise you could be at a great secuirity risk!
Switched to qBittorrent years ago when utorrent ads were becoming too much and getting harder to disable. It works just as well and i use it on both Linux and Windows!
The best bittorrent client at the moment. It is fast, stable, provides stable swarm connectivity, and is well-maintained.
Awesome client, faster connecting and downloading than Deluge and Transmission, more configurable, and most importantly better supported and developed! The UI is almost identical to μTorrent's. Working perfectly on Mint 20.1, but if you want the latest stable update use this official ppa:qbittorrent-team/qbittorrent-stable
Лучшее торрент приложение: 1 - Никакой рекламы, 2 - работает идеально.. 3. Движок тот же что и у Utorrent
Have been using for 3 or so years and loved it. Up until this evening. Cause just no I understood that it breaks my router (!). I noticed a month or so ago that whenever I use torrents on my Linux Mint PC afterwards my internet speed drops to almost zero, sometimes stops working at all. Talked to provider support, they recommended resetting my router to factory presets, which I did, it helped (Fairly decent router Zyxel Keenetic Start). Until the next time I use Qbittorrent. Then I repeated the procedure. Today I realized looking through router logs that there is a port forwarding rule created by Qbit. There is this setting in the program, UPNP forwarding. If you have this weird trouble like I did, uncheck ithe box or just try Transmission.
Loved using this software even more than utorrent when I was a Windows user....
Works great, have been using qBittorrent for a few years now and it's great, easy to use, customizible and full of good tools for both pros and noobs to use.
The repo version is out of date, better to add their PPAs. Been using it on Windows ever since uTorrent went adware, and good to have it here on Mint as well.
The version in the repo is out of date, but the software runs as expected. You'll get better performance out of rtorrent but qbittorrent is usable out of the box.
I have liked and used this in Windows. After torrents were stalled, I installed in LM. No better at all. Now I just read that QB sometimes exhibits a bug where active torrents stall for no reason. Bad, very bad.
Our favorite Bit Torrent Client for Linux. Works flawlessly on many machines all using 19.1 Cinnamon, 18.1 Cinnamon, and 18.3 Cinnamon. Extremely easy to use.
