libreoffice "Since more then 20 years, LibreOffice (formerly OpenOffice) is my first choice. It's simple where it has to be simple and it handles complexity when needed." |

inkscape "I use it regularly since a switch from Corel Draw/WinXP/Win7 to Linux in 2013. In the past years and in some rare cases, some functions didn't work properly - but only for short time because of the separated development of the application and the operating system. In such cases, useable workarounds are quickly found on the internet and a few updates later, the bugs are repaired. Congratulations!" |

qtractor "Qtractor is for me the ideal DAW since 2013. It has a very flexible bus system, no track limits, no plugin limits and all advantages of the JACK or the Pipewire audio-deamon. It handles many different plugin formats. For score notation or tabs, I export midi tracks and open them in Musescore, Tux-Guitar or Rosegarden. Simple wave-editing can be done, but for more complex things, I use Tenacity (from the audacity developers). Hardware: USB compliant audio interfaces. Since I use it (2013), the software improved along the demands of their users. It's a great DAW for people with a low budget and the will to learn an application!" |
