This is one of the most egregious Flatpak variants of applications out there in my opinion, *purely speaking on size.* Standard VLC claims to be about 45 MBs. Makes sense. This Flatpak claims to be 2.6 GBs. Perhaps I'm missing something, but shit like that is why I never go for Flatpaks over native packages

Compatibility exceeds most people's expectations and the UI, while not being the most modern one, is familiar and more or less intuitive to use.

Works great, less buggy than the system version and gets updates regularly. Don't forget to use Flatseal to restrict file permissions or revoke network access to bolt down security if you wish.

The one stop place to play all your videos without issue. Been using for about 15 years, love it. Only player that seems to play everything without issue.

This Flatpak version is much better than the system package. There isn't the bug of two windows opening up (media and controls) for a file.

I like VLC so giving it a good score.. .need a section for scoring technicalities though. Had to uninstall the flatpak version, it ran as administrator by default and asked for username and password multiple times, every time I tried to play a movie that was being hosted by SMB. Uninstall and went with the system version, no problems at all. Linux Mint 21.2 64bit VLC 3.0.18 from the flatpak, from the system VLC is 3.0.16-1Build7 and now it works just fine. Oh and all the installations and uninstalling were handedled by the "Software Mnager" just in case that matters.

Tip: Downloads from Flatpak are much better than the official repository.

Flatpack worked much better than the "system package" or whatever it's called.

Na minha humilde opinião esse é o melhor player que existe... Conta com praticamente todos os codecs necessários. Acho que deveria vir pré instalado por padrão em todos os Linux.

Sometime it crashes. Speacialy when opening a dvd (folder option) and some single files, sounds speeds up like fast forwarding, no video. Some other times opening a single Videos_ts forlder shows green image. I am going to try classical version again, but It wasn't fine either.
