com.thincast.client
"Multiple desktops with audio/mic work great. I like the auto quality detect setting too. Playback of audio on on local computer wasn't working with Remmina 1.4.40, but it works correctly with this app"

"It works very well for me and supports multiple monitors, which is what I was needing."

ddclient
"This version is very old, needs to be updated, and won't work with OpenDNS. Go install v4.0.0 if you're trying to update your IP for OpenDNS. The documented configs online will work perfect with that version."

"This is great and has many of the features I'm used to in Snagit on Windows."

xrdp
"Best remote desktop option if you want to RDP into Linux headless and have multiple desktops. Very important note; you can not be logged into a GUI session on the Linux computer if you want to RDP into the computer. Log out first and leave it at the login prompt, then RDP in. You also can't RDP a second time from another computer and kick the first session off, like you can on Windows; you must disconnect first or SSH into the computer to kick the first session off. Otherwise, this is the best option, fast, sound works, and love using RDP for multiple desktops!"

org.gnome.DejaDup
"After trying out several of the other popular apps, I found that Deja was the most user friendly with the Restore features! It easily allows you to point to your backup, from a fresh computer or install and begin the restore process. It was the only one I found that offered to automatically restore the files to their original location and then completed the restore for me. As a huge bonus, the compressed backups were a fraction of the size of others tested. It also comes with a very easy to use backup scheduler. This app would be my top recommendation."
