org.gnome.Boxes
"Very hit and miss. Actually works better on KDE than Mint LOL. Seems fine if you want to install a NEW VM, but if you try and import an image of VMM (qcow2) or VDHX image it falls over. The other thing I don't particular like is that you have to save your machines to your home directory otherwise you have permission issues."

"Seems overly complicated to use. But has some nice functions a few of the other renames don't"

org.kde.dolphin
"I actually love using Dolphin as a file manager - it's my preferred file manager. However using on Linux Mint it just doesn't work correctly. It times out on Network drives and won't connect regardless of how you try and connect (SMB, FTP etc). If you're browsing local it's fine. The native version has the same issues"

it.mijorus.smile
"Pretty easy to get up and running. Although it doesn't have a config menu for adding a shortcut at least it explains how to do it and even supplies the command. Takes a second or two to pop up though. Much better than a lot of others. "

"Can't say I like it. Have to launch from the menu as there's no help or config menu to say what the keyboard shortcut is. When you do launch it sits square in the middle of your screen and can't be moved. If you click the task icon, the program seems to crash"

"Like many other the shortcuts don't seem to work unless oyu have the app already open on the screen. And still have to copy to clipboard. "

com.tomjwatson.Emote
"Unfortunately doesn't work as advertised. The only way I could get it to pop up was from the launch button in Software Manager or doing a search for it to manually to open. I even tried to change the shortcut to super+. (like on windows a KDE) but wouldn't launch either. Also when you click on the emoji's it would only copy to the clipboard and not directly to the page. ruby-mp3tag
"Looks like a command line utility, no GUI"

ripperx
"Severly depricated to the point of non-functional. The CDDB address had to be updated. Then when you actually run the program it creates a WAV file but deletes it (from settings). No MP3 file is made. And that's also your only option as there doesn't seem to be plugins for other formats"

sound-juicer
"Only works on Gnome (no KDE). And even then still very limited functionality. Can't set proper locations and file names for output files, hard to get to encoder profiles if you want to rip to multiple formats, can't change encoder settings for any of the encoders. On a positive note it's relatively fast, has cover art and generally accurate rip"
