com.cocoatech.deckr
"It works, the only thing is I'm not sure what the *point* of the application is..."
3
libreoffice-core
"The version from this source (7.3.7.2 when the latest version is 7.6.4.1) is very out of date and is no longer maintained. Install the flatpak version instead. "

com.github.sdv43.whaler
"Can't install it - tries to remove org.gnome.platform for some reason, fails, then gives up. "
2
thunar
"Don't get me wrong, the file manager itself isn't nearly as good as nemo (default Cinnamon file manager) but the bulk renamer is the only one I can find that handles numbering properly. Go ahead and make an application shortcut with "thunar --bulk-rename %F" and then remove the regular thunar shortcut from your applications folder. No need to thank me. "

spotify-client
"Good music service, and it's nice that they have a native (albeit electron) Linux app. The title bar integrates poorly with most desktop environments, if that bothers you. Use spicetify if you want to add cool features to it. "
4
sublime-text
"Downsides: Paid software, and it's stuck on an old version (and will constantly ask for updates unless you add `"update_check": false` w/o the ``s to the settings JSON). Pros: It's still Sublime Text and will open excesivley large text files when other editors like VS Code or Xed will slow down or crash."

io.github.fsobolev.Cavalier
"Very cool and pretty music visualizer. Wish it had an option to automatically cycle cycle colors rainbow-style (or even sync with OpenRGB) though. Definently reccomend! "
4
app.drey.Warp
"In contrast to Linux Mint's included file transfer software "Warpinator" (as of 2022), Warp actually works and is reliable. 10/10, highly recommend. "
5
com.github.calo001.fondo
"Nice concept, but the fact that it does not filter out advertisement images makes it pretty unusable to me (more than 1/3 of all images are of an xps or surface laptop or windows 11)"
2
steam-launcher
"Valve has done amazing work to make gaming on linux not only viable but desirable. The proton compatibility layer does wonders for playing an extensive amount of my steam library. Highly recommend. The version in the Software manager may be out of date, consider downloading the .deb from the Steam website at store.steampowered.com/about/."
5
easytag
"Very useful for adding metadata to ripped CD music, however it's difficult to select individual tracks and should honestly just implement a checkbox selecting system like most other programs do with these kind of lists. "
4
youtube-dl
"Outdated, install via pip. This version is old, use "sudo pip3 install --upgrade youtube_dl" in terminal to get the latest version. "
2
google-chrome-stable
"Pretty decent web browser, with integration with google services. If you would like an open source alternative, however, I would recommend Chromium, which can be found in the Software Manager. "
5
mintinstall
"Fantastic and most reliable software manager I have seen compared to many other distros (I'm looking at you, ubuntu)"
