rhythmbox "Is able to play last.fm Radio" |

wine "Provides me the ability to use SQLYog and PDF XChange Viewer with Linux. However still problems with most games so I still require a dual boot environment." |
4 |
keepassx "Works under Linux, Windows and Android. Helped me to use different passwords for different services. Great!" |
5 |
jabref "Unfortunately you need to enter most data by hand. This gives good control on small bibliographys but is tedious if you have many references. In the second case I prefer Mendeley Desktop available as *.deb package as well." |
4 |
sbackup "Nice backup solution. Imho currently better than MintBackup. Only annoying problem: If my external drive is not mounted it creates backups locally and pollutes my local hard drive instead of failing silently." |
4 |
rapidsvn "Not perfect but imho better than SVN workbench or the nautilus scripts. Tortoise might be the only app I miss from windows." |
3 |
vinagre "does what it should with VNC protocol" |
4 |
bouml "Best free UML Editor. Even supports templates at most elements from UML 2.0. Code generation for more then only java. :) Is a little complex but very reliable if you know how. Not as good with round trip engineering as commercial tools like together. But since it is C++ based it is usable even on slow computers (worked on 800 MHz stone age machine at university)." |
4 |
texmaker "Nice lightweight latex editor. Allows easy work without getting to far away from the latex command line tools" |
5 |
vim "Nice little editor. I really like it. Not so easy to learn, though." |
5 |
eclipse "Used it since 2004. Not perfect but imho the best IDE available. Most problems are due to some broken plugin." |
