"Perfect. Works really well."

keepassx
"So good. This does exactly what it needs to do. I trust this more than internet-based password vaults (what happens if the server fails?) This allows you to keep your passwords on a secure file on your PC (plus USB drive, personal web server, etc)."

audacious
"Best 'Winamp classic'-like Linux media player I have used. Light and simple design, yet plenty of options/customisations possible. (All other Linux media players which I tried had 1 or 2 deal-breaking missing features). Why this isn't the default app in Linux Mint is beyond me..."

easytag
"Sorry, but I couldn't get the hang of this one. The functionality was not intuitive for me - especially the strange icons that you have to hover your mouse over to understand what they mean. Am using the excellent free Mp3tag software through WINE instead."

tomboy
"As an ex-Windows user who would constantly have an MS notepad window open to type down quick notes, Tomboy is the perfect tool to do that...and more. I really like the way notes are automatically saved with each keystroke, and the way notes are grouped into different categories. In Linux Mint 7, Tomboy was automatically next to the MintMenu button, but now in Mint 9 it is hidden in the applications list. I wonder how many would-be users are now missing out on this great application :("

rhythmbox
"Reviewing version 0.12.8: I have spent a lot of time trying to find a music player that does everything I want - similar to Winamp on the PC. The one unforgivable thing that I don't like about Rhythmbox is the way that songs are automatically deleted from the play queue. This is an easily fixed problem that should be rectified, as I like to set up temporary playlists and revisit them multiple times before eventually clearing tracks from the playlist. The back end of Rhyhmbox seems OK, but this feature is the deal-breaker for me. A skinnable interface would also be welcome, as the current 'block' appearance is quite unappealing to me. I'm using Exaile instead."

amarok
"Reviewing version 2.3 - Amarok is a very confusing software program for this ex-Winamp user who likes simplicity. The software seems to come pre-loaded with 'features' that have been merged together without considering the overall look and feel of the software. I am currently using Exaile and find it to have a much superior interface."
