picasa
"google supported wine projects and invested money towards their development, so the fact it uses a wine wrapper isnt out of laziness. Besides it outperforms native linux phot apps (for me) because it doesnt screw with my organized photos (f spot) or have a memory leak (shotwell) so ill happily use this in both windows and linux till native apps can do a better job. my only issue, is the fact picasa backs up original pictures that youve touched up/edited, by use of ini files, which can beome clutter (wish they were hidden files like in windows)"

"transparency issues in some themes (as with many gnome apps sadly (cpu temp/gcheck mail, ubuntues notification applet etc) works but ugly in some themes as i couldnt seem to get the background tray color to work at all"

computertemp
"transparency problems..but works, just looks nasty with some themes/without tweaking (edit, should say it supports true transparency, unlike the tray icons, so it looks out of place, if other gnome programs followed a standard this would look sweet"

prism

gimp
"I like gimp, but as a photo shop user, the few complaints i have are apparent when using gimp. Mainly for me the lack of a singular window, bt a modular window program, is a bit confusing for me, and why cant Iwarp have a full screen preview? lots of small bothers for me..but if you bother to learn its way of doing things, and its limitations, it does its job, just dont expect Photoshop."

firefox
"ok i guess, but never liked the history (netscape) so its always remained rather plain and ugly to me, but if thats not an issue..it works fine..and has tons of plugins, however finding and using the less buggy ones, is a trial and error sort."

screenlets
"would prefer gdesklets to this, but thats broken atm. seems buggy so i try to stick with software that is dependable/stable as possible, and none of these seemed to meet that criteria"
