libjs-cropper
"Not a 'program' that can be used 'out of the box' in linux. Needs to be compiled."
1
gscan2pdf
"Excellent program. Scans well from auto document feed and for multiple pages can scan one side and then scan the second side and number it all correctly for you."
5
claws-mail
"Fast and simple. Great for text email. Have to download a plugin to render HTML emails and it seems difficult to print these as PDFs. Overall I find more reliable than Thunderbird though and a good program."
4
mp3splt-gtk
"Works very well. Quick and easy. Slightly rough and awkward interface but I got used to this in no time."
4
thunderbird
"Avoid like the plague!! Every time it is updated something else seems to go wrong! They make you update and it has a new look which then doesn't fit on your screen. All I want is a simple, reliable email program. I used to think this was really good, about 6000 updates ago."

brutalchess
"Graphics resource hungry so runs very slowly on my computer. Only 1 level."
2
pdfedit
"Runs painfully slow on my computer - might run better on a faster computer but would suggest only worth trying if you have a VERY powerful computer"
2
twinkle
"Good. Get some echo even with echo cancel on but not sure this can be overcome by the software"
4
neverputt
"Works well - challenging levels though the courses could have a little more personality"
4
kasablanca
"Very easy to use ftp client - if you are a bit new to uploading websites and need something simple would recommend this"
5
bluefish
"Useful program. Create html properly (via actually typing the html) but with a little help along the way"
5
pdfshuffler
"Small, quick easy to use program."
5
sbackup
"Unfortunately does not work in latest version of Mint. Apparently a patch is available but I found Back In Time to be an excellent alternative"
1
backintime-gnome
"Excellent backup utility"
5
musescore
"Produces very high quality typeset sheet music. Doesn't have real time note entry and has the occasional bug but the community provide wonderful support. I find it just as quick choosing the note duration using the computer keyboard numbers and you can enter pitches via midi keyboard. Quality of sheet music produced is very high quality."
5
inkscape
"Seems like a very powerful program. I have found the learning curve a little steep but it does come with good tutorials and has some impressive features."
4
gimp
"It's not bad though I find it a little slow and awkward to use (mind you I am not an expert at this software and clearly other people find it excellent). It does appear quite powerful."
3
firefox
"There are more light-weight browsers but really this is the most reliable. Many of the more light weight browswers fail to display all pages correctly."
4
gparted
"Good tool. Only slight area for improvement would be to have it able to unmount partition before editing it rather than just failing but it is still a very good program and aside from that quite user friendly."
