radiotray
"The app itself is wicked! But the package in this repos is buggy. Better to install the newer package from their page: http://radiotray.sourceforge.net/"

warzone2100
"The game is brilliant! I remember I used to play it on PS1 when I was a kid, but I couldn't finish it. Am intending to do it now. Nostalgia... :P"

prism-google-talk
"very useful if you don't video chat and can't be bothered to set up Pidgin / Empathy..."

"awesome firefox prism!!!!"

openoffice.org-writer
"OPen is a thing of the past. Libre is the way to go."
3
abiword
"It certainly looks more appealing than OpenWord, especially on Mint 10 with its Faenza buttons. However I've encountered some rendering problems with .docx format (MSWord2007). .doc and .odt formats seem to work fine."
4
mintupload
"I don't quite get it. I've asked around at the Mint forums and no one seems to have found a practical application for it. This is not a cloud, and looks like an embrio version of Filezilla."

ubuntuone-client-gnome
"Very useful for managing my university papers. This way I can access my assignments from the Web browser if I don't have this laptop with me. Works great with Mint 10."

"The name speaks for itself hehe..."

"If you don't like the format, don't hate the software! It surely does the job."

skype
"can't wait for the day where it actually stops being a beta and becomes a full-fledged app on in its own. What I noticed is that rythmbox is hogging my sound devices and when it's on skype isn't working properly. If you have the same thing make sure you kill rythmbox. Also you can post your problem at forum.skype.com - lots of Linux users there :)"

calibre
"Advanced yet simple. However the big buttons on top should be replaced with more minimalistic ones for a more eye-candy effect :) Btw, great free ebooks on www.manybooks.net"

midori
"Excellent minimalistic touch. However for some reason I get the impression that Chromium is a bit faster. Am going to try it out and see how it flows on the long run. Default homepage isn't working as it is set for Ubuntu, not Mint. As for Ctl + Enter (see below), it has no use for European users, as it supports only .com domains; and not .co.uk for example."

blender
"There are entire animated films done with that program. Elephants Dream, Big Buck Bunny, and Sintel are some of them. The latter can be downloaded from www.sintel.org. Considering the free nature of the app the result product is amazing!"

thunderbird
"I'd rather user Evolution"

computer-janitor-gtk
"This along with BleachBit are a good way of cleaning your computer. I recommend"

googleearth
"A very interesting application; unfortunately i'm having graphic problems on my Mint; but the same app works fine on Win7 dualboot :(("

"I prefer rhythmbox"

timer-applet
"How do you use it? I have installed it, but I have no idea how to start it."
3
alien-arena
"It's very nice, but it seems to lag on my laptop unfortunately..."
4
chromium
"The browser fixes many issues Firefox had for ages"
5
gtwitter
"i don't know what have I logged in to, but that wasn't my twitter for sure...."

gwibber
"The idea behind it is very good, and would be usefull. But the app is really heavy. Are there any alternatives?"
4
wormux
"I like this game, but i remember, when I was using Sabayon, there was a CPU opponent option. The LinuxMint's one doesn't seem to have that; which, for me makes the game impractical. Is there a chance of upstreaming the game from Sabayon Linux?"
3
gmail-notify
"The app is visually unappealing. Every time you check for mails a big Gmail logo appears. I recommend 'checkgmail' package instead."
2
lyx
"looks promising indeed. a bit confusing in the beginning though."
4
bluefish
"A very good software. I think this pacakge is a bit different from the one at Sabayon's Entropy. Very good for an open source app."
