com.github.unrud.VideoDownloader
"simple, relaible, just the right level of control and works on all browsers"
5
com.github.hluk.copyq
"Feature packed, but after a short while new copies stopped showing up in the list, which defeats the purpose. Went back to my old stalwart."
2
whatsapp-desktop
"Does the job"
5
mplayer
"Simple and elegant. Works flawlessly."
5
steam-launcher
"Would be 5 stars if skins worked easily for Linux. Other than that, 110% thanks to the folks at Steam for this and all the effort in Proton for making gaming WORK for Linux"
4
conky-all
"It is a whole sounder of swine to set up, but once it is working I like having the info available - and it works just fine on Cinnamon"
4
gparted
"Just makes life so much easier"
5
webapp-manager
"Very nice"
5
parcellite
"Runs in the background, simple and effective."
5
kid3-qt
"One of the better ones on Linux, BUT if the file has a track 22 of 30 or disc 1 of 2 tag somewhere, or a character it doesn't like in a tag, it throws a tantrum and I have to restart it. Otherwise this would be a 5 for sure."
4
acetoneiso
"Great image manager tool"
5
spotify-client
"Does everything I need for spotify premium"
5
winff-gtk2
"Easy to use and versatile over several conversion formats"
5
rclone-browser
"Works very nicely to easily manage my Microsoft 365 subscription with a GUI."
4
flameshot
"Easier and more versatile than others. The UI makes it easy and visible to access A LOT of flexible options and features. Saving to jpg is easier than with other applets. Sits in tray. Cons are not worth a minus star: It lacks screen recording but it does what it does well, and you need select an area to grab a window or single monitor which is no issue at all. Simple yet very powerful.."
5
gnome-boxes
"Well Dang! That was a shedload easier to set up than the others. External drives work OK (although it swipes thm from my host while mounted but not a big deal). Internet connection works OK. It has become much easier to use virtual systems since I tried this."
5
xsane
"Awesome is a bit of an overstatement, but, easy to set up and works when sometimes other things do not. Easy to use, produces good results, so it gets a 5."
5
thunderbird
"The only app that really installs and works easily with a very old hotmail account. Much as I want to try something else I keep ending up back with TB. The only thing really lacking is an easy way to import and sync the Outlook live address book."
4
telegram-desktop
"Thank you that it is available in the Mint software repository, but on install, it wanted to install several hundred MB of KDE bloat to a Cinnamon environment. Yowza! A tiny download from the telegram web site just clicks and works fine instead."
2
smplayer
"Just the right balance of simplicity and functions. My new default player."
5
puddletag
"This is the only Linux tagger for me that is as easy to use (in fact better) than TagScan. It handles album art, easily changes up and down into directories, can add custom fields. It all works and is all easy. You have to reopen it if you change a directory in a file browser, but because it also opens with a right click from a cinnamon folder, that becomes a non issue."
5
easytag
"It has lots of nice functions and features including album art but comfortable ease of use is terrible. Easy to get lost with lots of sub directories and applying some of the lenses is cumbersome. Defaults do not change easily and colum sizes change causing irritation. It works, it is OK, but feels like a battle to use."
3
pitivi
"Easy and does what I need to do. Linux is a bit thirsty for apps like this, so very happy to have it."
5
me.kozec.syncthingtk
"To sync from Linux to Windows or Android, works like a charm. Even without admin rights on the Windows machine. Not too easy for a novice, but worth the time in getting it set up."
5
nemo-media-columns
"It might degrade performance a little, but without something similar, I won't move from Nemo. In fact I might even rather use Windows."
5
winff
"I use this on my Linux machine, and also on my work Windows one. One of those must haves for multimedia transformation. It is particularly useful for sound file shrinking."
5
de.haeckerfelix.Fragments
"If you want features and configurability, get something else. But if you want minimalist, easy and just does its job well, then Fragments is recommended. It is more like Transmission than Tixati. Integrates well with Firefox on Mint 19."
4
qasmixer
"Not many utilities allow the easy valume control of individual speakers for 5.1 sound."
